PURPOSE:To obtain the optical disk device of a small size, light weight and thin type by disposing a pickup constituted of an optical integrated circuit of a thin sheet shape approximately in parallel with the optical disk. CONSTITUTION:The pickup to be used for the optical disk device is constituted of the optical integrated circuit 100, a beam splitter 240, a cylindrical lens 200, a convex lens 220, a focusing lens 210, a focus control actuator 310, and quadrisected photodiodes 230. Further, the optical integrated circuit 100 is consti tuted of a thermooptical deflecting element 150 on two-dimensional waveguides 105, a waveguide type lens 140, a branch type waveguide 142, a TE-TM mode splitter 130, a semiconductor laser 110, and photodetectors 120a, 120b. Such pickup is so disposed that the plane part thereof is approximately paralleled with the optical disk 300. The optical disk device having the pickup which is small in size and weight and is capable of making even the tracking control is thereby obtd. |
