<p>PURPOSE:To prevent paper from being jammed at a sorter used in combination with a copying machine or the like, by controlling bin trays to regular positions through the utilization of a bottom sensor, a bin tray sensor, a paper sensor and the like. CONSTITUTION:This sorter is equipped with a bottom sensor 1262, a bin tray sensor 1261, a paper sensor 54, a home position means 1001, a paper entry decision means 1002 and a regular control means 1005. The bottom sensor 1262 inspects the action of a transfer mechanism 87 and detects that all of movable bin trays 56A-56D has been transferred downward. Also, the bin tray sensor 1261 detects from the action of the transfer mechanism 87 that bin trays 56A-56D are at the regular positions. Further it is detected by the paper sensor 54 that the paper has been fed to the sorter from an image generating device. When bin trays 56A-56D are at the regular positions on the basis of the decision of the paper entry decision means 1002, the drive of a bin tray drive means 122 is stopped.</p> |
