PURPOSE:To obtain a receiving sheet for thermal transfer which has excellent sensitivity at the time of recording images, by providing an image-receiving layer by using an image-receiving layer-forming resin having a density not more than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:An image-receiving layer is provided by using an image-receiving layer-forming resin having a density of not more than 1.1, in a receiving sheet for thermal transfer which comprises a sheet base and the image receiving layer provided thereon for receiving a dye transferred from a thermal transfer sheet by heating. The sheet base may be a plastic film, a synthetic paper, a cellulosic fiber paper or the like. With the image-receiving layer provided by using the resin having the low density of not more than 1.1, dyeability of the layer can be enhanced, because the low density resin enhances diffusivity of the dye at the time of recording an image and increases the quantity of the dye with which the image-receiving layer is dyed. The receiving sheet for thermal transfer may be provided with an intermediate layer such as a cushion layer and a porous layer between the sheet base and the image receiving layer, whereby an image corresponding to image data and having little noise can be transfer recorded with favorable reproducibility. |
