A method for adjusting a laser resonator, in the case of which at least one resonator mirror is tilted transversely with respect to the axis of the active material until the laser power is maximised. In order to be able to achieve optimum adjustment of the laser resonator permanently as well, the procedure is that the tilting of the mirror is carried out by a motor and the laser power is at the same time measured continuously over a defined tilting angle range which includes the maximum value, the measured power values being stored by a computer which, after completion of the power measurement in the tilting angle range, allows the mirror to be adjusted by the motor to the tilting angle position corresponding to the maximum value.
