In order to connect a transom 92) to the frame leg (1) of a glazing bar or of another crosswise transom of a window or of a door, at least the transoms being hollow plastic profiles, the invention proposes a transom connector (4), having a foot part (5) as abutment flange and an adapter piece (6) which extends at right angles thereto and can be inserted into the interior of the hollow plastic profile of the transom (2), in the case of which the transom connector (4) is designed as a plastic moulding into which metal angles (7) are received such that the outer sides (7.1) of one leg of the metal angles (7) lies flush in the abutment surface (5.1) of the abutment flange (5) and the inner side (7.2) of the other leg of the metal angl (7) lies on an inner wall (6.1) of the adapter piece (6), designed as a hollow body, of the transom connection (4), the end side of the adapter piece (6) projecting beyond that leg of the metal angle (7) which lies in the adapter piece (6). By virtue of this design, the hollow profile of the transom is closed off in a sealing manner by the transom connector, steel inserts provided in the transom have no metallic contact to the outside, the transom connector can be produced and used simply and cost-effectively. <IMAGE>
