The known thread-milling tips are designed in such a way that they have to be fastened obliquely in the holder in order to achieve the requisite clearance angle. But in a thread-milling tip fastened to the holder in this way, it can be difficult or even impossible to set the optimum rake angle. The novel thread-milling tip is therefore to be designed in such a way that there is an adequate clearance angle in the working position of the thread-milling tip and it can nevertheless be provided with an optimum rake angle.
