RESIN AND ITS PRODUCTION

Novel ion-exchange resins have a polymeric matrix and functional groups of formula I The resins are prepared by reacting a corresponding resin having corresponding functional groups terminating in -NHR<1> with HC(O)R<2> and (R<3>)2SO3 or (R<3>)2S2O5. Intermediates corresponding to the resins of formula I in which SO3 is replaced by OH are also novel.
