The invention relates to an implanted splint for rib fractures which is characterised by a splint (2, 2') which comprises an absorbable material, has a thickness of about 1 to 3 cm and a height of 0.8 to 4 cm and has a concave lateral surface which is adapted to the curvature of the outside of the rib, there being depressions (4) for fixing of a suture thread (8) at least on the upper and/or lower edge of the splint (2). <IMAGE>
