PURPOSE:To attain the unitary control of firmware by automatically reloading firmware when the original firmware stored in a host device is replaced while holding the firmware loaded to respective peripheral devices. CONSTITUTION:Even when firmware for a peripheral device 2 which is stored in a storage means 12 included in the host device 1 is replaced by improvement, change or the like, the revision information of the firmware is read out and compared with the revision information of firmware stored in a storage means 24 included in the peripheral device 2 by a comparing means 22 at the time of system rise. When a difference is discriminated by said comparison, the firmware stored in the storage means 12 of the host device 1 is loaded to the storage means 24 of the peripheral device 2 and the revision information in the storage means 24 is simultaneously rewritten to the revision information in the host device 1. Consequently, the unitary control of the firmware can be executed.
