MANUFACTURING METHOD OF A CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY

The assembly for a vehicle clutch includes a resilient ring (1) with a set of fingers (7) projecting radially inwards, fabricated from sheet material. This forms a cover for a membrane spring (4) which acts against the pressure plate (2) and which extends towards the operating ring (8) for the output shaft of the transmission. The resilient ring is formed in a number of stages from a flat shape into a domed shape (15) with a peripheral shape into a domed shape (15) with a peripheral flange and inwardly bent fingers (7). During forming, a pair of wire rings (5,6) is incorporated with the fingers, which are afterwards bent round the rings.
