<p>The inert gas is circulated in contact with sodium in divided form at high temperature. The inlet gas is cooled after being brought into contact with sodium and is then passed through at least one filter unit (9,10) before being recycled. The sodium containing impurities is collected after having being brought into contact with the inert gas and is purified by cooling and deposition of the solidified impurities before it is recycled.
