A lighting apparatus comprising a casing, a reflector means disposed within the said casing and at least one fluorescent light element mounted relative to said reflector wherein at least a portion of said casing is adapted to form a lens system. Preferably an upper part of the casing has longitudinal ribs formed therein which act as a lens system to efficiently direct the light from the low energy fluorescent sources into the area to be illuminated. |
