PURPOSE:To enable a sewer to be efficiently widen in desired dimension, by running a shield machine provided with an excavating device, to break the almost upper half section of a previously set sewer as a guide, and by assembling a segment on the rear side. CONSTITUTION:At the bottom section of the skin plate 4 of a shield machine 3, a running device 5 for running with a previously set sewer 1 as a guide is set, and in the skin plate 4, an excavating device 6 is set. Then, the shield machine 3 is run, and the almost upper half section of the previously set sewer 1 is broken, and at the same time, along the broken sewer, natural ground G is excavated in a desired shape. After that, on the rear side of the shield machine 3, a segment 11 is assembled, and the new sewer 14 of a desired cross section in contact with the previously set sewer 1 is constructed. Besides, in front of the skin plate 4, a moving hood 7 is set, and the natural ground G is prevented from being destroyed. |
