To automatically and efficiently press a work-piece (3), the device comprises a feeder (1), transfer device (2) and sensors (1-3S, 1-4S, 1-8S, 3S). The feeder moves a sheet of steel up sequentely and feeds the sheet to the transfer device without damage to the workpiece. The roller-type transfer device supplies the sheet to the press intermittently and sensors control the process.
