PURPOSE:To provide a thin and miniature sealing device by polarizing the peripheral edge of a center hole in a magnet so as to have N and S poles, and by fitting a rotary shaft in this center hole while holding magnetic fluid in a gap between the magnet and the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:The peripheral edge of a center hole 6 in a magnet 5 so that small sections have N and S poles alternately. Further, a rotary shaft 1 is fitted in the center hole 6 of the magnet 5, and magnet fluid 3 is held in a gap between the magnet 1 and the rotary shaft 1. With this arrangement, no yokes are required, thereby it is possible to provide a thin and miniature sealing device. |
