PURPOSE:To enable the formation of a hard face build-up welded bead having excellent resistance to wear and weld cracking, by using a Co-base alloy of the specific compsn. contg. Si, C, Cr, W, Fe, Mo, Mn, Ni. CONSTITUTION:This Co-base alloy has the following compsn. in weight % and provides the hard face build-up welded bead having excellent resistance to wear and weld cracking and machinability: The alloy has the compsn. consisting of 1.1-3.0% Si, 0.2-0.5% C, 25.0-30.0% Cr, 0.1-1.0% W, 0.2-3.0% Fe, 0.4-6.0 Mo, 0.1-2.0% Mn, 1.0-4.0% Ni, and consisting of the balance Co and unavoidable impurities. Even if this Co-base alloy contains some B, P and S as impurities in the case of using said alloy for build-up welding, the alloy eliminates the generation of weld cracking, more particularly, fine weld cracking, in the weld bead. |
