PICTURE PROCESSOR AND THINNING SIGNAL GENERATOR

PURPOSE:To finely vary a magnification over a wide rang by adding an addition resulting data in one preceding period and a main scanning direction magnification data synchronously with a picture element clock or a line enable signal so as to generate a signal for picture element or line interleaving. CONSTITUTION:An input picture data VDI magnifying a original picture data VD by a multiple of E in the main scanning direction and by a multiple of L in the subscanning direction, its picture element clock ECK and a line enable signal LENB are outputted from a magnification device 101. The one preceding period addition result data EB and a main scanning magnification data ED are added synchronously with the picture element clock ECK by a picture element thinning signal generator 103 and a picture element thinning signal DELE becomes logic 0 at an equal interval by an ED period in the 2N period of the picture element clock ECK. Similarly, a picture element thinning signal DELE becomes logic 0 at an equal interval by an LD period in the 2N period of the line enable signal LENB in a line thinning signal generator 104.
