PURPOSE:To decrease the number of light elements and to compensate the nonlinear component by the chirping generated in an optical fiber so that efficient light pulse compression is enabled by providing an adjusting part for adjusting the spacing between a pair of diffraction gratings and the disposition angle thereof. CONSTITUTION:This device has a pulse laser light source 1 which emits light pulses, the optical fiber 3 in which the light pulses propagate, a pair of the diffraction gratings 5a, 5b which form the dispersible delay path of the exit light pulses of the fiber 3, and the adjusting part 10 which adjusts the spacings between a pair of the diffraction gratings 5a, 5b and the disposition angle thereof. The need for providing the optical elements such as prisms and quartz rods is eliminated by providing the adjusting part for adjusting the spacings between a pair of the diffraction gratings and the disposition angle thereof in such a manner. The number of the parts is thereby decreased, the constitution of the device is simplified, the loss by reflection, absorption, etc., of light is decreased, and the output characteristics are improved. |
