MULTIPLE RATE VOICE ENCODING

PURPOSE: To quickly perform changeover from one rate to the other rate for all nodes inside a network by providing a step for subtracting the result signal of decoding from voice source signals and generating error signals. CONSTITUTION: Voice signals are filtered in a short term filter 13 so as to lead out short term residual signals and the short term residual signals are supplied to a first code excitation long term prediction coded signal generator (CE/LTP device) 14 and coded. Then, the coded signals are decoded, input signals to the first CE/LTP device 14 are subtracted from the decoded result and the error signals are generated. The error signals are turned and impressed to a second CE/LTP device and the coded signals are guided. That is, a plural- rate frame is provided with both coded signals from the first CE/LTP device 1 and coded signals from the second CE/LTP device.
