PURPOSE:To correct effectively a burst error, by detecting the position of a code error among the received codes and then correcting the error by means of the obtained residue and the error position. CONSTITUTION:For the code received through an input terminal 1, the noises are added to the code words of code length (n) bits produced from a polynomial of a produced polynomial G(x) and information bits and check point (c+m)bits. When this received code closes a switch 2, the code is supplied to a divider circuit 5 and an n-bit shift register 3. A circuit 5 consists of a register 11 waiting for feedback and an adder 12, for example, and performs a division of (x<c>-1), and the residue is produced within the register 11. Then a position where an error possibly arises is detected 13 and corrected. At the same time, a received code word is sent to a shift register 3, and the output of the register 3 is inverted by an exclusive logical circuit 9 and corrected. The output of correction is delivered 10. |
