PURPOSE: To produce a precise torus and a bow-shaped piston segment by a simple two-shaft NC machine by machining the opposite surface by exposing/supporting/ machining/reversing the semitorus surface of a rough torus machining member having a circular cross-section. CONSTITUTION: Holes 50, 52 and the other one piece parallel to a central shaft A are machined in a torus machining member 40 by a drill, a spindle 72 and the other two pieces project from the side surface of a flange 62 of a support material 60, and the torus machining member 40 is fixed to a support member 60. Since a program is made so that a tool T is moved from a zero point in a semicircular path to a second point of 180 degrees from a first point by crossing a plane P1 by crossing the surface from the first point crossing the plane P1 in the surface of the torus machining member 40, a desired quantity of materials are removed from the surface by lathe turning, and a desired quantity of materials are also removed from the opposite side surface be being reversed, so that a finishing torus is formed as an accurate prescribed dimension.
