A channel section in bare aluminium or stainless steel, or in enamelled iron, is shaped to fit on top of a domestic cooker. Its corners are gently rounded, edges are folded back and pressed to eliminate sharp points, and its upper surface is set up 45 deg to the cooker top. The unit is positioned between the cooker's burners or active hotplate zone and its control knobs in front. Grease spots and splashes created in the cooking process are thus intercepted, leaving the knobs of the appliance free from contamination. ADVANTAGE - Screen formed by channel section free-standing on cooker ensures that knobs are not contaminated by splashes during cooking.
