The air conditioning plant is for heating in winter and cooling in summer. It has a ground probe circuit (C), and air conditioning appliance circuit (D), and a heating circuit (H). Heat pumps (7) are switched between the circuits and individual circuits may be separated from the plant by three way valves(12) and/or slides (16,17). There is an additional ground probe circuit (A) with heat exchanger (5), and an additional circuit (B), connected to the heating circuit (H). The additional heat circuit is also connected to the heat exchanger. Energy available at the high temp. side of the heat pump, is returned to the ground (2) via probes (1).
