Oil drops entrained in air is removed therefrom by passing via 18 round separator 1 when large drops move to wall 2 because of centrifugal force and collect at the bottom of the separator, the remaining air then passes through pleated cylindrical coalescing element 23 where the remaining oil drops coalesce and pass with the air down tube 12 past helical vane 33 when the thus imparted rotary motion causes the coalesced oil drops to move to the surface of tube 12 because of centrifugal force which drops collect at 34. The coalescing element 23 may comprise intertwined or interwoven metallic, plastic, glass or fabric fibres.</p> |
