PURPOSE:To easily form a high-accuracy rotary polygon mirror in a short period of time so that mass productivity is improved and the cost is reduced by using reflecting plates which are previously worked to specular faces and executing insert molding so as to have a polygon shape. CONSTITUTION:The rotary polygon mirror 1 has an octagonal plane shape and is constituted by subjecting glass 2... which are finished to specular faces to insert molding to the octagonal shape. Namely, one face 2a of the reflecting plate 2 is previously finished to the mirror face and is disposed to the prescribed position in a metallic mold for the insert molding. Plastic into which glass fibers are included is disposed in this metallic mold by which a reflecting plate supporting part 3 is molded. The reflecting plates 2... have the octagonal shape in such a manner and are joined to the reflecting plate supporting part 3 by which the molding of the rotary polyhedral mirror 1 is completed. The weight reduction and mass production of the rotary polygon mirror are thereby enabled and the size over the entire part of the system is reduced and the cost is reduced by using a small-sized motor. |
