Method and device for entering routing information

A method and a device are proposed for entering routing information in particular into an electronic routing and orientation device, which can preferably be used in motor vehicles, by means of a digitising device which is used to enter the desired route and additional route markings. In this method and device, given items of informations are entered for marking specific route marks. For this purpose, signal transmitters, labelled with symbols, for example sensor areas (16) or keys (6 to 14) are pressed. By touching the sensor areas or by pressing the keys, unambiguous information for coding the desired route is entered. This information can be evaluated by the computer of the routing and orientation device in an unambiguous manner so that a user of the device can be notified by means of an unambiguous text which is presented on a display having an LCD matrix (5) of the fact that he has reached a specific route marking. <IMAGE>
