CODED TRANSMISSION METHOD FOR MULTI-COLOR ORIGINAL PICTURE

PURPOSE:To improve a data compression rate by scanning a transmitted original picture by one line to obtain run length code data on the groups in number equal to the number of colors excluding the ground color and the color deciding code data that can decide the types of colors used actually. CONSTITUTION:A photoelectric transducing part 18 of a transmitting device 10 scans a transmitted original picture 16 by one line and alternately between the yellow and red beams. A signal converting part 20 produces the black and red picture signals and the color discriminating codes from the output signals of the part 18. A coding part 22 codes each picture signal into a run length code data group. While a decoding part 24 of a receiving device 12 decodes the run length code data group received via a transmission line 14 into the black and red picture signals. Then the data are recorded on a recording form based on the black and red picture signals via a recording part 26. Thus a received picture 28 is obtained. In each a way, a high data compression rate is secured.
