PURPOSE:To make improvements in earthqyake-proofing capacity by forming a damper with a main damper damping a large displacement vibration and a subdamper damping a small displacement vibration, in earthquake-proof equipment consisting of an isolator and the damper. CONSTITUTION:Earthquake-proof equipment is made up of an isolator consisting of an elastic body each as laminated rubber with long periodicity, and a damper damping a vibration. This damper consists of a main damper with damping capacity effective to relatively large vibro-displacement and a subdamper with this damping capacity effective to relatively small vibro-displacement. With this constitution, damping control ranging from a small displacement vibration such as traffic vibrations and so on to a large displacement vibration as a big earthquake can be done effectively. |
