The invention relates to a device for placing kerbstones, edge stones and the like, consisting of a carrying element with two gripper jaws, which element can be fixed to a lifting hook of a digger, front end loader or other vehicle, and of a hydraulically actuable piston-cylinder unit. In order to ensure that kerbstones and edge stones can be individually grasped, placed and at the same time aligned with a reference line, it is proposed that the piston-cylinder unit is fixed vertically below the carrying element, with a piston rod projecting downwards, and that the gripper hooks are constructed in the manner of sheet metal and are pivotably mounted on the underside of the piston-cylinder unit on opposite sides of the piston rod and connected to the piston rod via an articulated lever in each case. <IMAGE>
