<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title resin free from problems such as staining during printing and poor transfer and improved in adhesiveness to a substrate by reacting a specified hydroxlated compound with a monocarboxylic acid anhydride and removing the monocarboxylic acid as the by-product from the reaction product. CONSTITUTION:One hydroxyl group of a hydroxylated compound obtained by reacting an epoxy compound (e.g., glycidyl ether-derived epoxy resin) with (meth)acrylic acid at 70-130 deg.C in an epoxy group to (meth)acrylic acid equivalent ratio of 0.9/1.1-1.1/0.9 is half-esterified with 0.1-1mol of a polycarboxylic acid anhydride (e.g., maleic anhydride) at 70-130 deg.C, and the obtained half ester is reacted with an epoxy compound and, optionally, a monocarboxylic acid (e.g., formic acid) at 70-130 deg.C to obtain a hydroxylated compound. One hydroxyl group of this compound is reacted with 0.1-1mol of a monocarboxylic acid(e. g., acetic anhydride) at 70-130 deg.C for 1-4hr, and the product is distilled in vacuo to remove the monocarboxylic acid as the by-product therefrom.</p> |
