PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine having an activity of a cardiac and anti- arrhythmic agent, anα- andβ-adrenoceptor blocking activity or an antihypertensive activity by mixing 3-aminopropoxyaryl derivative. CONSTITUTION: This medical composition contains a hydrolyzable derivative having a compound of formula I R1 is H or methyl; R2 is H, methyl, carboxyl, etc.; R is B-CO-Rh [B is formula II (Ri is H, a 1-4C alkyl, etc.); Rh is a 7-11C phenylalkyl, etc.], formula III [Rm is CORn , etc., (n) is 2-4], etc.} or a hydroxy group at 2-position of 3-aminopropoxy side chain of esterified form and their salt as an active component. The composition is compounded with a pharmaceutical carrier, a diluent, etc., and formulated by a normal method to obtain the objective medicine. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula IV (Rx is a group capable of generating 2-amino-1- hydroxyethyl by reacting with an amine) with a compound of the formula: R-H.
