Process for repairing chimneys, and apparatus for carrying out the individual process steps

Processes are known, in the case of which inner-wall surfaces (2) of the chimney (1) are knocked off by means of rotating cutting devices. In order to reduce the outlay in terms of time and the danger of joint-crack formation, a multiplicity of vertically running slits (3) are cut into the inner-wall surfaces (2) by means of cutting discs such that the imaginary connection of the slit bases (4) gives a rectangle or a full circle; the resulting webs are broken off and the web residues are then cleaned off the inner-wall surfaces (2). Special apparatuses are specified for the individual process steps. The process and apparatuses are used for repairing old chimneys. <IMAGE>
