PURPOSE:To minimize the size of a packing device and facilitate the handling of a refrigerant pipe, by installing a stepped part to the side of a casing so as to reduce the width dimension of the rear section of a unit which is placed in contact with the wall of a room smaller than that of the front section, and providing a notch to the side of the rear section in order to extend a refrigerant pipe to the outside of the casing. CONSTITUTION:The casing of a heat exchanger unit 1 comprises a main body 2 and a front cover mounted in the front of the main body. The main body 2 is so designed that its cross section may be substantially U-shaped with the edges 5 on both left and right sides projecting more forward of an edge 7 of an upper surface 6. A stepped part 8, which extends in a vertical direction, is provided on the sides 4 of the main body 2, thereby enlarging a width dimension A of the rear part more than a width dimension B of the front section 10. In addition, a drain pipe and a refrigerant pipe 37 extend frontward from a notch 53. At the time of packing a heat exchanger unit 1, a drain piping 38 and a refrigerant piping 37 are arranged along the sides 4 on the left side of the heat exchanger 1 so that the refrigerant piping 37 and the drain piping 38 may not project backward from the rear of the heat exchanger 1. It is, therefore, possible to reduce the depth dimension of the heat exchanger unit at the time of packaging. |
