The plant for making micronised metastable anhydrous calcium sulphate consists of a container for the raw material, from which it is measured into a vertical drop tube with a furnace and burner coupled into the side of the upper part, so that baking of the prod. is carried out instantaneously as it falls past the mouth of the furnace. At the bottom of the tube is a disintegrator which conveys the milled prod. to a rising tube parallel to the first tube. This opens over a group of cyclones to separate the solid prod. from the gases and steam from the burner. Under the cyclones is a collecting hopper with a one-way valve in the outlet. Each cyclone group also has a chimney provided with an extractor for evacuation of the gases.
