In a mat for eliminating earth radiation with which an area exposed to earth radiation is covered on the top on which the mat has an earth radiation arrangement it is provided, according to the invention, that the earth radiation arrangement comprise permanent magnets which are axial magnets arranged side-by-side such that opposite poles of adjacent axial magnets follow each other on each mat side, measurable magnetic fields being built up in the spacings between axial magnets extending essentially in parallel in an area dimension and a balancing of the opposite magnetic poles being produced over the covered area by pairwise allocation of the even-numbered axial magnets.
