An implement 1 for attachment to a landfill compactor wheel 2, comprises a plate-like paddle 3 provided at a first face 4 thereof with a wedge 9 having spherically convex flanks 11 to produce a curved edge or tip 12 which in section is always pointed with an included angle lying between 30 DEG and 90 DEG . The wheel 2 is provided with a plurality of implements 1 in a staggered helix pattern, with the paddle 3 of each implement 1 at an angle of at least 25 DEG with respect to the axis of rotation of the wheel 2.
