PURPOSE:To prevent the slackening of an ink ribbon when a printing head is returned to an initial state, by providing a lever revolving so that a press part is brought into contact with the ink ribbon with the retraction of a slider or separated therefrom with the advance of the slider. CONSTITUTION:A slider 10 is pushed by a thermal head (a) to be retracted while compressing a coil spring and a lever 17 is rotated with the retraction of the slider 10 and the press part 18 thereof is brought into contact with an ink ribbon 3 to bring said ribbon 3 to a tensioned state. The thermal head (a) is displaced forwardly upon the reception of a printing signal to be pressed to the ink ribbon 3. At this time, the slider 10 also advances by a coil spring 13 but, since the front wall of a protruding part 14 collides with the inner wall of a recessed part 2 to stop, the head part of the slider 10 is separated from the thermal head (a) and the lever 17 is rotated in the reverse direction this time by the advance of the slider 10 and the press part 18 thereof is separated from the ribbon 3. When the printing of one line is finished, the thermal head (a) is restored to an initial state but the press part 18 of the lever 17 applies tension to the ink ribbon 3. |
