Prepn. of styryl dyes of formula where X = cyanide, carbalkoxy or arylsulphonyl grp., Y1 and Y2 = H, alkyl, alkoxy or phenoxy, R v alkyl, phenalkyl, cyanalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, acyloxyalkyl or a residue A-S-B where A = opt. subst. alkylene grp. and B = aryl, aralkyl or heterocyclic residue. - Dyeing and printing of polyester and cellulosic fibres and textiles with good resistance to light and sublimation.
