Concentrated solutions of basic dyes

Concentrated solns. of basic dyes (I) comprises (a) at least 10% (I) in the form of the free base or as a salt of a monobasic C4-30 org. acid, (b) a chlorohydrocarbon solvent, (c) opt. a polar org. solvent completely miscible with (b), and (d) C4-30 monobasic org. acids. Pref. (I) are methine-, azamethine-, hydrazone or azacyanine dyes, dyes of the di- and triarylmethane series, xanthenes, thioxanthene-, acridine oxazines, thiazine- and phenazine dyes, and basic dyes of the azo-, anthraquinone- and phthalocyanine series; (b) perchloroethylene and/or trichloroethylene and/or 1, 1, 1-trichloroethane; (d) is 2-ethylcaproic-, oleic-, hexahydrobenzoic-, t-butyl-benzoic-, nonylphenoxy-acetic- and/or nonylphenol-diethylene glycol ether carboxylic acid and (c) is butyrolactone or dimethyl-formamide, methanol, etc. Uses are in dyeing fibres of (co)polyacrylonitrile, assym. dicyanoethylene, acid modified aromatic polyesters or-superpolyamides.
