<p>Drinks with mint aroma, opt. contg. alcohol, esp. syrups and sodas, contain essential oil of mint in emulsified form such that the amount of essential oil incorporated may exceed the amount usually possible without impairing the stability of the drinks or increasing their alcoholid strength. Specif., the drinks have an opalescent appearance imparted by emulsified tincture of benzoin. The essential oil and tincture of benzoin are emulsified with the acid of gum arabic. Freshness of aroma and flavour is maintained for long periods.</p> |
