<p>The ring consists of a binding material such as a plastic and reinforcing material in the form of strip. Part of the re-inforcing material is orientated around the ring near the inside diameter, while the remaining reinforcing material has a random orientation or is orientated parallel to the generatrix. The ring is manufactured by compression moulding. Plastic is a resin, pref. an epoxy resin, polyamide resin, fluorocarbon polymer and/or a Friedal-Crafts resin, while the reinforcement may be threads of W, Mo, Fe, steel or carbon fibres.</p> |
