PURPOSE:To omit the use of an expensive correcting lens and to obtain an inexpensive and compact optical scanner by inserting a reflecting mirror between a light source part and a rotary polygonal mirror and rotating the reflecting mirror to correct the face inclination of the rotary polygon mirror. CONSTITUTION:The optical scanner is provided with the reflecting mirror 4 for making an optical beam 2 from the light source part incident and reflecting it and the rotary polygon mirror 5 for scanning the optical beam 2 reflected from the reflecting mirror 4 and constituted so that the incident and reflecting faces of the reflecting mirror 4 are inclined in accordance with the face inclination angles of respective deflecting faces of the polygonal mirror 5. Namely, radiation by the optical beam 2 from the light source part is made incident upon the reflecting mirror 4 and the reflecting mirror 4 is inclined to a piezo-electric element 11 in accordance with the previously measured face inclination angles of respective deflecting faces of the polygon mirror 5, so that the optical beam made incident upon each deflecting face of the polygonal mirror 5 scans an expected scanning line. Consequently, the face inclination of the rotary polygonal mirror 5 can be corrected without using an expensive lens and the inexpensive and compact optical scanner can be obtained. |
