A window stay comprises a guide track 10 on which a shoe 15 is slidably mounted for controlling opening/ closing movement of a window 1 relative to a frame 2 and a separate locking device 23 mounted on the track 10 to restrict sliding movement of the shoe 15 and prevent accidental or unauthorised opening movement of the window 1 beyond a limit position e.g. a ventilation position. The device 23 is detachable from the guide track 10 to allow opening movement of the window 1 beyond the limit position when required. <IMAGE> |
