PURPOSE:To enable high-density recording and to enhance the reliability of reproduction by forming the surface of the tracking marks of an optical recording medium formed with a recording layer on a transparent substrate to a matte state. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording medium has the tracking marks 10 on the transparent substrate 9' and the surface of the tracking marks 10 are formed to the matte state. Further, the recording layer 10 consisting of a laser recording material is provided thereon. Any resins which have excellent optical characteristics such as high transparency and less double refractions are usable as the resin to be used for the transparent substrate 9' and are, for example, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate, etc. The high density recording is thereby enabled and the reliability of the reproduction is improved. |
