PURPOSE:To enable information of various kinds of code systems to be processed and printed only by preparing one set of a font set, by a method wherein code information of a basic code system is prepared by converting code information of a different code system. CONSTITUTION:Code system information 11 and designation code information 13 are supplied to a code conversion circuit 15 as address information. Read basic code information 16 is supplied to an address operation circuit 17. The address operation circuit 17 operates a start address on bit map information of a corresponding character code stored in a font memory 18. The font memory 18 reads a character pattern designated by address information 19 among vari ous character patterns stored in a memory area specified by font and size information 12. The read pattern information 23 is written in a corresponding buffer among a plurality of output buffers 24-1, 24-2, prepared per each line by conforming to a printing interval, and a video data is prepared. |
