PURPOSE:To obtain the title novel sintered form outstanding in mechanical strength, durability and reproducibility, by spraying into a heating zone at a specified temperature or higher, a suspension prepared by dispersing hydroxyapatite fine particles in water and/or an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a dispersion medium is prepared in the form of water or an organic solvent each singly or a mixed solvent comprising water and an organic solvent compatible with water. Secondary, said dispersion medium is incorporated with hydroxyapatite fine particles followed by mixing and agitation to prepare a suspension of said fine particles. Thence this suspension is sprayed into a heating zone at >=500 deg.C using a spray device such as of pressure nozzle or twin-fluid nozzle type, thereby obtaining the objective novel spherical hydroxyapatite sintered form with a granular size of normally 0.5- several tenths mum and high mechanical strength, suitable for a filler to be used in liquid chromatography. |
