PURPOSE:To avoid deterioration of the picture quality which is caused at a joint to an additional picture by inputting the TV signals to two multiplication means to apply the weighting to these TV signals by means of two weighting signals that have the square sine characteristics together with the fixed addition and dividing the TV signals at a prescribed horizontal position on a screen. CONSTITUTION:The weighting is applied to the color TV signal by means of the control signals Xn and Yn having the square sine characteristics. Then this TV signal is divided into the center and side signals. In other words, the color TV signal can be smoothly divided with use of both signals Xn and Yn having the square sine characteristics. As a result, the transmission of the color TV signal is attained with no omission of information at all even with division of the TV signal by setting the square sine characteristics in a transmission band of the color TV signal. Thus the full application is possible with the undivided information and no deterioration of the picture quality is caused at a joint of pictures when both center and side signals are synthesized in a picture. |
