PURPOSE:To form high-strength gypsum board having excellent water-vapor absorbing and desorbing performance, excellent fire properties and resistance to insect damage and corrosion, by blending a composition for gypsum board with an inorganic or organic water-vapor absorbing or desorbing additive or both the additives. CONSTITUTION:This gypsum board blended with an inorganic water-vapor absorbing or desorbing additive or an organic water-vapor absorbing or desorbing additive or both the additives. For example, clay minerals selected from zeolite, montmorillonite, diatomaceous earth, silica gel, activated clay, etc., may be cited as the inorganic water-vapor absorbing or desorbing additive. For example, water-soluble polymer substances such as Poval, CMC, polyethylene oxide, starch, etc., may be cited as the organic water-vapor absorbing or desorbing additive. The surface of gypsum board having the above-mentioned blending is covered with a coating film having water-vapor absorbing or desorbing properties or the surface is coated with a water-vapor absorbing or desorbing wall paper so that effects can be further improved. |
