<p>PURPOSE:To achieve shortening of a time required for transfer processing and to lessen a memory capacity of a whole system, by a method wherein a character pattern data of a printer controller is transferred to a host computer, and said character pattern data is further transferred to a plurality of host computers. CONSTITUTION:When a character pattern data on an output side of a printer of high resolution is transferred to a host computer 2 of low resolution side, a transfer amount of the character pattern data between a printer controller 1 and the host computer 2 is preferably small in comparison with a traditional amount, and a time required for transfer processing of the character pattern data can be shortened. Further, when a plurality of host computers 2 are connected to the printer controller 1 having a character pattern memory 10 and the character pattern data of the printer controller 1 is transferred to a plurality of the host computer 2, 2..., the character pattern data of the same content need not be provided for respective host computer 2, 2..., and a memory capacity as a whole system can be made smaller in comparison with a traditional one.</p> |
