PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber, capable of providing a product excellent in bulkiness and feeling and improved in crimp exhibiting properties, by dividing spinning solutions of two or more kinds of acrylic polymers having different copolymerization compositions into many layers, spinning the solutions into a yarn, drying and densifying the yarn and subjecting the densified yarn to specific treatment. CONSTITUTION:Spinning solutions of two or more kinds of acrylic polymers having different compositions are initially divided into layers so as to provide >=3 theoretical number of layers in single filament expressed by the formula (K is a constant dependent on the contour shape of a spinneret) and then introduced through a filter having >=10mu mesh opening into a spinneret. The resultant yarn is subsequently drawn, washed with water, dried, densified, then preheated with steam under ordinary pressure and mechanically crimped. The resultant mechanically crimped yarn is then subjected to crimp exhibiting treatment, redrawing treatment and mechanical crimping to afford the aimed fiber. |
